Fresh Content – Get It Now
Fresh content is hard to come by sometimes.
How many of you have stared at a computer screen, hoping that a simple idea will pop into your head, and your brain will magically begin to produce fresh content ? I know I have, because it is not just a good idea that we are after. We are trying to wrack our brains for a content idea that will make our business get attention; content that will go viral.
Fresh content means new content – a new topic, way of doing something, product, service, statistic, etc. that people haven’t thought of before. In this race to see who will produce this content first, we may be thinking too hard, and therefore distracting ourselves from the finish line. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to think of fresh content because inspiration is closer than you think.
People often say that it is good to be different, and it is, especially if you have confidence. Now, I understand the being creative can sometimes be challenging, so here are some examples of businesses that created fresh content by being unique, and, let’s be honest, a little absurd.
If you were a car company, a good content idea would be to bring up the year’s safety ratings on cars and note that your company’s most affordable car had a high ranking. A fresh content idea would be to make a music video featuring cool hamster’s driving the affordable car, like Kia did in 2010.
Or say you own a local candy store. A good content idea would be posting statistics of people’s favorite candies from each decade. A fresh content idea would be to smash up all of those candies and combine their pieces into a cohesive mural that represents every decade. Having fun with your company’s product or service can bring a lot of new and positive attention even to something old.
The point of these examples is to get you thinking outside the box for fresh content to post on your company’s website or social media platforms.
