Logging In To WordPress Dashboard

To edit your website you need to first log in to the back end of your site, the WordPress dashboard.

First, go to the browser of your choice and enter http://[yourdomain].com/wp-admin.
(Note: if your domain is a .net or .biz or what have you, enter [yourdomain].net, etc.) For example, if your company’s url was http://google.com you would enter http://google.com/wp-admin.

You will be taken to the login page, which looks like this:

As a newbie, your main areas of concern are:

Here you can add, delete and edit your page’s copy and images, as well as add and delete the pages themselves.

Here you can add posts to your blog, and edit or delete existing posts.

Here you can pick or change your theme design, select an existing header or upload your own header, change the background color, add copy, widgets or other items to your sidebar and create or edit navigation menus.
