Pinterest Your Way to Pretty

Submitted by on April 30, 2014 – 10:00 amNo Comment

As humans, we respond particularly well to three types of stimulants: fear, comfort and… shiny objects. This may seem silly, but that is essentially the principle behind Pinterest. Many businesses pass up the opportunity to use Pinterest, but it actually is a valuable resource that can “pretty” up your brand and cause the “shiny object” effect through pins.

Here are 4 ways to “pretty” your brand with Pinterest:

Is your business using Pinterest?

Is your business using Pinterest?

  1. Be “Pin-able”: Pinterest allows users to interact with your brand by sharing your content. You encourage this by adding a “Pin-it” widget. Your customers can see an image they like and pin it directly from your site. The Pinterest widget works just like Twitter and Facebook’s widgets.
  2. Organize Yourself: Within your company’s own Pinterest page, you’ll want to create many boards based on themes, ideas or subjects to keep everything organized and to reach specific audiences. Your customers don’t want to see a page cluttered with useless information and meaningless pictures.
  3. Mark Your Property: Have you been creating awesome content that is going viral? You don’t want to lose credit, so you should put your name or your business’ information on it. If people love your content you’ll want them to know you made it!
  4. Re-pin: Customers love engaging when they know you are reciprocating with them. Get involved with the Pinterest community by re-pinning images, videos and infographics that pertain to your brand.
