Does your business have a YouTube channel?

Thanks to the Internet, social media marketing has made businesses transparent to customers. Facebook deals and infotainment tweets make consumers feel more connected and familiar with your business, eventually leading them to a purchase decision. Go one step further in your social media marketing efforts and consider creating a YouTube account.

Many small businesses don’t think to use YouTube as a marketing tool; you don’t want to be just another commercial. But customers are curious about what really happens behind the scenes. People like to know how things are put together and the process behind a great product, whether it is human or machine made.

3 Social Media Marketing Examples for YouTube

1. Life at [insert business name here]: Customers want to know that the people behind the business are just like them. Feeling a connection is what attracts and keeps customers. Make a video about a “typical day at [your company]” with some satirical but relatable scenarios.

2. Contest:Got a new product but don’t know what to name it? Create a montage about the product and challenge customers create the name. Holding a contest between employees? Make a video highlighting each of the employees’ skills and ask your audience to vote.

3. Tips and Tricks: Does your business have a specialty? Do you want to share it with the world? Post informative videos explaining industry related problems to help customers right in their own home. They’ll appreciate it.

Using YouTube as a part of your social media marketing campaign can greatly attract customers and increase your visibility. Create a series about the day-to-day goings on of your business, hold a contest and post tips about your industry to relate to customers.
