Video is a powerful way to reach your audience.

If you want to score great SEO points as well as develop rich content for your brand, video marketing is the way to go. However, too many companies start video production with no real knowledge or unrealistic expectations. Here are a few beginner tips for a successful video marketing campaign to get your company into the 21st century.

  1. Set (realistic) goals and expectations 

Your first video marketing campaign probably won’t go viral on YouTube and that is ok. Instead, let your focus be specifically on what you want that video to generate. Start small and work your way up through multiple videos.

  1. Clear call to action

Yes, you will have to literally spell it out for your audience. Make your call to action very specific; what do you want them to do? Do you want them to make their own video, comment, like, share, sign up, buy now or download an app? Be clear in the action you want your audience to take.

  1. Get creative

Creativity is fun; just make sure you know who your audience is. They are likely getting trampled with dozens of video marketing campaigns a day, and most of  them are a failed attempt at trying to reach them. Give them something of value that strikes their interest yet fulfills a want or need; give them a reason to share.

  1. Plan social media support

What better way to promote your new video than on social media? Be smart about it and make sure that your platforms are optimized for video sharing. There’s no point in building strong social media support if you aren’t ready to handle comments or can’t track the video’s effect.

  1. Analyze and adjust 

A video doesn’t survive long on the Internet. In order to reach the maximum audience, be sure to analyze any feedback you receive as well as analytics that track how often the video was viewed and by what demographics. From that research, adjust some details, build a stronger brand identity and send it back out there.

Video marketing is so important in building a brand that is relevant. When creating a campaign be sure to have realistic goals, create a call to action, be creative, use social media to support your video and analyze any feedback you receive.
