Writing Topics for Professionals

Submitted by on June 6, 2013 – 10:00 amNo Comment

Sometimes, writing topics are not the easiest thing to think of. However, many of us write every day. Whether you are lacking inspiration or know-how, this post will help spur the writing topics that you (and your business) are after.

Learn to love writing.

Learn to love writing.

One of the best writing topics that a professional can write about, especially for startups and those new to the social media scene, is their company itself. Launching a new product? Offering a new service? Updating anything? These questions are all in the minds of the mass public. While they may not be blatantly asking for it, people are interested in this type of information, so share it. These types of writing topics are perfect for social networks, and can range from detailed descriptions to sentence-long news blurbs (depending on the site).

Next in line for writing topics should be information related to your company. You can check out the Three Girls Media blog for examples. This means that writing topics can include any subject matter that would be relevant to someone seeking advice in your brands’ field of business. If your company makes eco-friendly products, writing topics can include new advances in environmental sustainability, neighborhood cleanups and “green” living advice. It is not uncommon for companies who provide their customers with relatable and relevant information to gain followers on social media.

On a side note from writing topics, I thought I would mention that all writing needs to be effective. Without this component, this whole process of finding writing topics would be useless. Keep in mind that writing needs to be engaging; have a call-to-action for the public, whether it is in a Facebook update or a blog post. Also, keep in mind that writing topics need to be geared toward a specific audience – your company’s target audience. These workshops can help improve your writing in the workplace.
